Our team brings together decades of industry knowledge across water gardens, indoor aquariums, fountains, lighting, aquaculture, logistics and commercial operations. From strategic leadership and sales support to marketing, procurement, finance and warehouse operations, the Aquatec team works collaboratively to deliver reliable products, expert guidance and consistent service across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Michael Cave, General Manager Aquatec Equipment & Director of Oase Australia
With almost 35 years experience across the water garden, lake management and decorative water industries, Michael’s career spans financial services, retail, wholesale distribution, importing, manufacturing partnerships and large scale agricultural operations, giving him a strong understanding of how water-based businesses operate and grow. He began on his family’s fish farm before acquiring and growing Watergarden World into Australia’s largest specialist water garden retailer.
In 1992, he founded Clearpond Australia and New Zealand, building it into a major importer and wholesale distributor servicing more than 400 resellers and working with global brands including Oase, Otterbine and Firestone, before selling the business in 2016. He later joined the Future Directions Board of Ruma Hospice, supporting free palliative care in Kolkata, India.
In 2025, Michael returned as General Manager and Director of Aquatec Equipment and Director of Oase Australia, part of the global Oase Group, overseeing operations across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Phil leads our sales across Australia and New Zealand, bringing extensive experience across the pool, irrigation and plumbing industries. Working closely with partners across retail, trade and commercial environments to understand customer needs and deliver the right outcomes, collaborating to drive innovation and growth.
Sam leads our marketing team, bringing close to 20 years’ experience across consumer goods and healthcare industries. Managing brand strategy, content development and multi-channel marketing across APAC, collaborating with partners to drive innovation across our brands and support growth.
Heidi leads our finance team, overseeing financial control and governance. Supporting day-to-day operations and long-term planning, helping guide commercial decisions. Focused on improving performance and strengthening the financial foundations to drive sustainable growth.
Ian leads our procurement team, bringing 25 years of supply chain experience across mining, FMCG and industrial sectors. Working across global operations and third party supply partnerships, supporting efficiency and continuous improvement. Focused on ensuring reliable supply and strengthening operational performance.
Ash leads our warehouse and logistics team and 3PL operations, bringing over 30 years of experience across warehouse and logistics. Managing day to day operations, supporting efficient distribution and reliable supply. Focused on ensuring safe, reliable and efficient performance across our Forrestdale and 3PL operations.
